Clay Township Military Library & Museum
Clay Township Military Museum is a small, volunteer-led military museum dedicated to honoring local veterans and preserving their stories for future generations. Known to area residents by this name for many years, the museum serves as Hamilton County’s only public military museum and focuses on connecting national military history to the men and women of our own community.
Founded by local veterans in the late 1990s, the museum was created as a place where service, sacrifice, and memory would not be forgotten. Over time, it became a kind of time capsule, preserving artifacts and stories that still deserve to be seen, understood, and shared.
Today, the museum is being revitalized by a small team of committed volunteers. Our work includes preserving exhibits, building an online Honor Roll, recording veteran interviews, developing Veteran Profiles with photographs and stories, and expanding access to local military history through digital outreach and public engagement.
Our exhibits explore major conflicts from World War II to the present, while also highlighting themes that are often overlooked, including Women in Service, POW/MIA, Animals in Service, the Home Front, and Guard and Reserve service. We also aim to document veterans buried in Hamilton County so their service is recognized as part of the community’s history.
At its heart, this museum exists to honor those who served, to preserve stories that might otherwise be lost, and to help our community better understand the cost and meaning of military service. As we continue this revitalization effort, we invite visitors, veterans, families, and supporters to join us in building a stronger future for this important local institution.
